The candidate will be responsible for designing the **complete mechanical structure, plastic housings, enclosures, internal components and moulds** for medical equipment and other electronic products. The ideal candidate should have strong practical experience in **3D product design, plastic part design, injection moulding, mould design and DFM/DFA** and should be capable of taking a product from concept and 3D design through mould development, trial, modification and mass production. Key Responsibilities1\. Product \& Structural Design * Design complete mechanical structures and housings for medical equipment. * Develop 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings. * Design plastic enclosures, covers, panels, brackets, handles, knobs and internal components. * Design mounting arrangements for PCBs, displays, batteries, sensors, connectors and other electronic components. * Ensure proper fit, assembly, accessibility and serviceability of components. * Develop mechanical concepts based on product requirements and industrial design concepts. 2\. Plastic Part Design * Design injection\-moulded plastic components for mass production. * Apply proper wall thickness, ribs, bosses, snap\-fits, clips, locating features and draft angles. * Optimize parts for strength, weight, appearance and manufacturability. * Consider shrinkage, warpage, sink marks, weld lines and other injection\-moulding issues during design. * Select appropriate plastic materials based on mechanical, thermal and application requirements. 3\. Injection Mould Design * Design and review injection moulds for plastic components. * Understand mould construction, core/cavity, sliders, lifters, inserts and ejector systems. * Work with mould manufacturers for mould development. * Review mould design before manufacturing. * Coordinate mould trials and identify problems during T0/T1/T2 and subsequent trials. * Implement design modifications based on mould\-trial results. 4\. Injection Moulding Process * Strong practical understanding of injection moulding machines and processes. * Understand injection pressure, holding pressure, temperature, cooling time and cycle time. * Troubleshoot defects such as: * Warpage * Sink marks * Short shots * Flash * Weld lines * Burn marks * Flow marks * Shrinkage * Ejector marks * Work with production teams to optimize moulding parameters and improve part quality. 5\. DFM / DFA * Conduct Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly reviews. * Optimize designs for injection moulding and mass production. * Reduce tooling and manufacturing costs. * Minimize the number of components and assembly operations. * Ensure designs can be manufactured consistently at production scale. 6\. Prototype \& Product Development * Develop prototypes using 3D printing, CNC, laser cutting or other methods. * Verify fit, dimensions and functionality before mould development. * Coordinate with industrial designers, electronics engineers and production teams. * Support development from prototype → mould → trial → validation → mass production. 7\. Medical Equipment Development Experience designing mechanical structures for the following products will be an advantage: * Patient Monitors * ECG Machines * Syringe / Infusion Pumps * Anesthesia Machines * Ventilators * BiPAP / CPAP * Baby Warmers * Neonatal Equipment * Defibrillators * Other hospital and medical equipment Required Software Skills Strong experience in at least one professional 3D CAD software: * SolidWorks * Creo / Pro\-E * CATIA * Siemens NX * AutoCAD **SolidWorks / Creo experience will be preferred.** Knowledge of: * 3D modelling * Assembly modelling * 2D manufacturing drawings * GD\&T * BOM preparation * Tolerance stack\-up * Sheet\-metal design * Plastic part design * Mould design Required Technical Knowledge The candidate should have practical knowledge of: * Injection moulding * Plastic materials * Mould design * Tool \& Die * DFM / DFA * Plastic part design * Product structure design * Tolerance and fit * Surface finish * Shrinkage calculation * Mould trial and correction * Rapid prototyping * Mass\-production engineering Preferred Candidate Profile We are looking for an engineer who is **hands\-on and production\-oriented**, not only a CAD designer. The candidate should be able to: * Design a complete product structure independently. * Convert industrial/product concepts into manufacturable designs. * Design plastic parts suitable for injection moulding. * Understand how moulds are manufactured. * Identify moulding problems and suggest design corrections. * Work directly with mould manufacturers and injection moulding vendors. * Visit the factory/vendor during mould trials when required. * Take responsibility from **design → mould → trial → correction → production**. Experience **3–8 years of relevant experience** in: * Product design * Plastic product development * Injection moulding * Mould design * Tool \& Die * Consumer electronics * Medical equipment * Automotive components * Industrial equipment Candidates with strong experience in **plastic product design and injection moulding** will be preferred. Salary **₹6–15 LPA**, depending on experience and technical capability. Higher compensation may be considered for candidates with strong experience in **complete product development, mould design and injection moulding production**.
