Amazon E-commerce - Assistant Manager

About the Role
We are looking for a results-driven Amazon Marketplace / E-commerce Assistant Manager to take ownership of the growth and profitability of our marketplace business.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience managing Amazon Seller Central, Amazon Advertising, marketplace operations, catalog management, inventory planning, pricing, promotions, product launches, and marketplace profitability.
The candidate will be responsible for driving Amazon sales and revenue growth, improving product rankings and visibility, optimizing advertising performance, maintaining healthy inventory levels, and maximizing overall marketplace profitability.
Experience in D2C, FMCG, Food & Beverage, or Coffee brands will be highly preferred.
1. Amazon Marketplace Management
- Manage the complete Amazon Seller Central account and day-to-day marketplace operations.
- Develop and execute strategies to achieve sales, revenue, profitability, and growth targets.
- Manage the complete product lifecycle on Amazon, including new SKU creation, cataloguing, listing optimization, pricing, promotions, launches, and product rankings.
- Monitor account health, performance notifications, customer feedback, returns, cancellations, and other marketplace metrics.
- Identify operational issues and coordinate with Amazon Seller Support, Account Managers, and relevant internal teams for timely resolution.
- Ensure all products comply with Amazon's marketplace policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor competitor activity, pricing, assortment, reviews, rankings, and marketplace trends to identify growth opportunities.
2. Amazon Advertising & PPC
- Plan, execute, optimize, and scale Amazon PPC campaigns across Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display, and other relevant ad formats.
- Manage advertising budgets while maintaining target ACOS, TACOS, ROAS, and profitability.
- Conduct keyword, competitor, ASIN, and search-term research to develop effective targeting strategies.
- Continuously optimize bids, budgets, placements, targeting, campaign structure, and search terms.
- Identify high-performing and underperforming keywords, ASINs, products, and campaigns and take corrective actions.
- Develop advertising strategies for new product launches, ranking campaigns, seasonal campaigns, and promotional periods.
- Analyze advertising performance and translate insights into actionable business decisions.
3. Sales, Profitability & Commercial Management
- Own and monitor Amazon sales, revenue, advertising spend, and profitability.
- Track SKU-level and portfolio-level performance to identify opportunities for growth and margin improvement.
- Develop pricing and promotional strategies based on competition, demand, margins, and business objectives.
- Monitor and optimize key commercial metrics including AOV, conversion rate, ACOS, TACOS, ROAS, contribution margin, and sales growth.
- Prepare regular performance reports and provide actionable insights to management.
- Identify opportunities to improve overall marketplace profitability through pricing, advertising, promotions, assortment, and operational efficiencies.
4. Inventory & Demand Planning
- Monitor inventory levels across Amazon/FBA and ensure timely replenishment.
- Forecast inventory requirements based on historical sales, growth plans, seasonality, promotions, and new product launches.
- Coordinate with supply chain, warehouse, and production teams to prevent stock-outs and excess inventory.
- Track ageing, slow-moving, stranded, and unfulfillable inventory and take corrective actions.
- Ensure sufficient inventory availability during major events and promotional periods.
5. Product Launches & Catalog Management
- Manage end-to-end Amazon launches for new products and SKUs.
- Coordinate with internal teams for product information, images, A+ Content, packaging, pricing, inventory, and listing assets.
- Develop launch strategies covering listing optimization, advertising, promotions, ranking, and inventory planning.
- Monitor launch performance and implement corrective actions to achieve sales and ranking objectives.
- Continuously improve existing listings based on search data, customer feedback, competitor analysis, and marketplace trends.
6. Amazon Promotions & Deals
- Plan and execute Amazon Deals, Coupons, Promotions, Prime offers, and seasonal campaigns.
- Coordinate with Amazon Account Managers for weekly, monthly, and quarterly promotional opportunities.
- Develop promotional strategies aligned with revenue and profitability objectives.
- Evaluate the impact of promotions on sales, margins, ACOS, conversion, and customer acquisition.
7. Cross-functional & Marketplace Coordination
- Work closely with Marketing, Creative, Supply Chain, Finance, Production, and Product teams to ensure smooth ecommerce operations.
- Coordinate with Amazon Account Managers, advertising partners, agencies, and other external stakeholders.
- Identify operational gaps and develop/improve SOPs and processes to improve marketplace efficiency.
- Stay updated on Amazon policies, marketplace developments, competitor activity, and ecommerce trends.
Preferred Experience & Skills
- 6+ years of experience in Amazon Marketplace / E-commerce management.
- Strong hands-on experience with Amazon Seller Central and Amazon Advertising.
- Experience managing FMCG, Food & Beverage, Coffee, D2C, or consumer brands preferred.
- Strong understanding of Amazon PPC, catalog management, inventory planning, pricing, promotions, and marketplace operations.
- Good understanding of P&L, margins, ACOS, TACOS, ROAS, contribution margin, and marketplace economics.
- Strong analytical and Excel/Google Sheets skills.
- Experience with tools such as Helium 10, Amazon Brand Analytics, Amazon Ads, Seller Central, or similar ecommerce tools is an advantage.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, ownership, and stakeholder-management skills.
