The competencies offered include analytics, digital, user experience, mobile technology, infrastructure, Microsoft technologies and open innovation. **The Opportunity** We are seeking a DNA Monitoring Engineer to support monitoring, operational stability, and observability of Azure\-based Data \& Analytics (DnA) applications and data platforms. This role focuses on ensuring smooth execution of batch jobs through proactive monitoring, dashboarding, and timely incident handling. As a mid\-level resource, you will work closely with senior engineers to enhance monitoring capabilities, support 24x7 operations, and ensure high data availability by following established observability and alerting practices. You will be responsible for executing tasks with increasing autonomy, applying sound judgment within defined parameters, and contributing to team outcomes. You are expected to demonstrate initiative, resolve routine issues independently, and support junior colleagues. You will anticipate and identify risks within engagements and share any issues with senior members of the team. In line with EY commitment to quality, you’ll confirm that work is of high quality and is reviewed by the next\-level reviewer. **Your Key Responsibilities** * Perform L1 monitoring and support for batch data pipelines and DnA applications on Azure, ensuring timely detection and resolution of issues * Execute standard recovery actions (job reruns, service restarts) based on approved runbooks * Participate in daily operational calls / stand\-ups and provide status updates * Track recurring issues and highlight them to senior team members for permanent fixes * Support post\-deployment monitoring to ensure stability after releases * Coordinate with upstream/downstream teams to track and resolve data delays or failures * Handle incident triage, perform initial diagnosis, provide timely updates, and escalate critical issues as per defined SLAs * Support 24x7 monitoring operations by working in shifts and ensuring proper coverage and handovers * Follow defined processes, governance guidelines, and ensure proper usage of tools and access controls * Continuously learn monitoring tools, troubleshooting techniques, and support best practices **Skills and attributes for success** * Basic to good understanding of monitoring Azure\-based DnA platforms (ADF, Data Lake, Databricks, Informatica CDI) with a focus on batch and application operations * Hands\-on experience in working with monitoring dashboards and observability tools * Understanding of 24x7 support environments and ability to work in shift\-based models * Good troubleshooting and analytical skills for initial diagnosis of issues and identifying recurring patterns * Basic understanding of batch processing workflows, job dependencies, and scheduling concepts * Ability to handle alerts, prioritize incidents, and follow escalation processes in a timely manner * Familiarity with monitoring tools, alerting systems, and basic log analysis * Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and stakeholders * Willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and support processes in a fast\-paced environment **To qualify for the role, you must have** * Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience * 2\-4 years of experience in data operations, production support, or monitoring of DnA/data platforms * Hands\-on or working experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Databricks, or similar data platforms * Basic experience in monitoring and supporting batch workflows and data pipelines * Familiarity with monitoring tools, logging, and basic observability practices * Understanding of incident management, alert handling, and escalation processes * Exposure to working in 24x7 support models or willingness to work in shift\-based environments * Basic understanding of batch job scheduling, dependencies, and production support processes * Basic scripting knowledge (Python/PySpark or similar) is a plus * Good communication skills for coordination with team members and stakeholders * Ability to work in a team\-oriented and fast\-paced environment * Willingness to learn and grow in monitoring and support functions **Technologies and Tools** **Must have** * Hands\-on or working experience in monitoring and supporting Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse, and Databricks batch workflows. * Experience in using monitoring and dashboarding tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Power BI, Grafana, or similar * Basic understanding of observability concepts, alerting mechanisms, and log analysis * Good troubleshooting skills for identifying and analyzing issues in data pipelines with support from senior team members * Good SQL knowledge for data validation and issue analysis * Experience or exposure to incident management, L1 triage, and coordination with L2/L3 teams * Understanding of working in a 24x7 support environment and handling alerts/tickets as per SLAs **Good to have** * Experience supporting data integrations from ERP, CRM, POS systems, Insurance Policy Admin Systems (PAS), Claims, Underwriting, or third\-party APIs. * Basic exposure to supporting data integrations from systems like ERP, CRM, POS, or APIs * Awareness of monitoring concepts, alerting, or automation basics (AIOps exposure is a plus) * Basic understanding of DevOps / CI\-CD concepts * Exposure to working in data or analytics environments * Relevant certifications such as: + Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate + Azure
