About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Shop Floor Supervisor to manage day\-to\-day production activities and ensure that work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to the required quality standards.
The candidate will be responsible for supervising workers, allocating daily tasks, monitoring production progress, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring that production targets and schedules are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
1\. Shop Floor Management
- Manage and supervise day\-to\-day activities on the shop floor.
- Allocate work to operators and workers based on production requirements.
- Ensure employees are working according to assigned tasks and priorities.
- Monitor attendance, manpower availability, and workforce utilization.
- Maintain discipline and proper workplace practices.
- Ensure the shop floor remains clean, organized, and safe.
2\. Production Planning \& Monitoring
- Execute daily production plans provided by management.
- Monitor production progress against planned targets.
- Ensure jobs are completed within the required timelines.
- Identify production delays, bottlenecks, and manpower requirements.
- Coordinate with the production team to resolve operational issues.
- Provide regular production status updates to management.
3\. Quality Control
- Ensure work is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Check workmanship and identify defects or quality issues.
- Coordinate with the quality team for inspection and corrective actions.
- Prevent defective or incorrect work from moving to the next stage.
- Ensure rework is identified and completed properly.
4\. Coordination Between Departments
- Coordinate with Design, Purchase, Stores, Quality, Dispatch, and Management.
- Ensure required materials, components, drawings, and instructions are available before starting work.
- Communicate production requirements and issues to the concerned department.
- Follow up on pending materials and other dependencies affecting production.
5\. Workforce Management
- Supervise workers and assign responsibilities clearly.
- Train and guide workers on proper work procedures.
- Monitor worker productivity and performance.
- Identify manpower shortages and communicate requirements to management.
- Ensure workers follow company procedures and safety requirements.
6\. Material \& Inventory Control
- Ensure materials are used properly and wastage is minimized.
- Coordinate with Stores for material requirements.
- Monitor material movement on the shop floor.
- Report shortages, damage, excess consumption, or discrepancies.
- Ensure leftover materials are properly identified and returned to the designated storage area.
7\. Safety \& Maintenance
- Ensure workers follow required safety procedures.
- Report unsafe conditions and incidents immediately.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and safety equipment.
- Report equipment or tooling problems to the concerned person.
- Ensure the shop floor is maintained in a safe and organized condition.
8\. Reporting \& Documentation
- Maintain daily production records.
- Record manpower deployment and production progress.
- Maintain records of rework, rejection, delays, and downtime.
- Prepare daily/weekly production reports as required.
- Escalate major production issues to management promptly.
Required Skills \& Qualifications
- Diploma / ITI / Mechanical qualification preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment preferred.
- Previous experience supervising shop\-floor workers.
- Good understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and understand basic engineering drawings.
- Good manpower management and coordination skills.
- Basic knowledge of quality control and production planning.
- Basic computer knowledge for production reporting.
- Good communication skills in Hindi and Punjabi; basic English preferred.

Salary
Up to ₹35,000 per month, depending on experience, technical knowledge, supervisory skills, and overall suitability for the role.
