We are looking for a **Mechanical Design Engineer – Sheet Metal \& Fabrication** who can convert customer requirements and drawings into **manufacturing\-ready designs and production drawings**. The candidate will work closely with the **production team, CNC laser cutting, CNC bending, welding and fabrication departments** to ensure that designs are practical, accurate and economical to manufacture. Key Responsibilities1\. Design \& CAD * Create 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings. * Prepare sheet\-metal components and assemblies. * Develop parts suitable for laser cutting, CNC bending and fabrication. * Prepare **DXF files** for CNC laser cutting. * Prepare detailed fabrication and assembly drawings. * Modify existing designs based on customer requirements. * Maintain proper revision control of drawings. 2\. Sheet\-Metal Design * Understand sheet\-metal development and flat patterns. * Calculate/verify bend allowance, bend deduction and K\-factor. * Select suitable bend sequences. * Consider material thickness, tooling and machine limitations. * Design components considering minimum wastage and efficient manufacturing. * Work with MS, SS 202, SS 304, SS 316, GI, Aluminium and other materials. 3\. Production Support * Coordinate directly with the shop\-floor production team. * Resolve drawing and manufacturing problems during production. * Check whether components can actually be manufactured as per drawing. * Support CNC laser cutting and CNC bending operators. * Assist welding and fabrication teams when required. * Make necessary design modifications to reduce rejection, rework and production time. 4\. BOM \& Documentation * Prepare **Bill of Materials (BOM)**. * Prepare cutting lists and material requirements. * Maintain drawing and component records. * Prepare production/job\-card related drawings and documents. * Maintain organized CAD files and revision history.
